It was Eveela who first awoke. The young druid stirred in her sleep a bit, before opening her eyes. She yawned and stretched, looked around being momentarily dazed. Neyeeva was the next to awaken. She stirred slightly as well within her lightening sleep. Her eyes fluttered open before becomming fully wakened. She slowly sat up so as not to make her self dizzy. Cenias, who had been there, guarding their bodies whilst they were within the Dream, walked over to them once he noticed their stirring. The older, wiser druid looked down to upon the two.
Neyeeva noticed Cenias appearing at her side. "Cenias?" she asked, still a bit confused and not fully alert.
Cenias nodded gently to her. "You are awake, Neyeeva. Sooner than I excepted."
Neyeeva let out a slight sigh before smiling up to the druid towering over her. "Yes. So it would seem." Neyeeva looked back to Eveela, trying to study her, attempting to find some noticable change within her that was not there. "Eveela? How are you feeling?" She asked hesitantly.
Eveela responded in her usual short and simple way. "Normal." she said.
Neyeeva nodded, acknowledging the response. Neyeeva thought for a moment. Outwardly it seemed nothing had changed of Eveela. "Do you remember it all? Everything?" She asked the young druid, thinking that perhaps she could not recall what she had just been through.
Cenias frowned lightly, looking over the two of them carefully. They had awakened much earlier than he thought they should.
Eveela paused for a moment before answering grimly, "I wish I didnt."
Neyeeva looked down to the ground, smiling to herself. Good, she thought, at least she remembers. Neyeeva looked back to Eveela, searching the other druid's eyes as Cenias remained silent observing the interactions between them.
"Eveela, I saw you defeat the thing, the embodiment of what you had become, now it is time to move forward, create a new image of yourself, a better one." Neyeeva told the girl, unsure of her change, though her senses suggested otherwise.
Eveela only listened, though her mind was evidently elsewhere, thinking of some other thing.
Neyeeva noticed Eveela's reclusiveness. She frowned at the druid. "Eveela?" She asked, attempting to gain her attention.
"Mhmmm?"
"Do you understand what I am telling you?"
"Ayep"
Neyeeva thought it would be best if she were to repeat her statement to the girl. "It is time to make a new, better image of yourself." Neyeeva continued, "You have been through many heartaches, some at your own doing, yet it is time to move forward and not look back, yet remember the mistakes so they are not repeated."
Eveela narrowed her eyes at the druid that had been her guide but said,"Yup"
Neyeeva turned to Cenias and lowered her voice to him in a quiet consultation, Perhaps it was only her imaging that she could not see any apparent change. "Do you sense anything different of her?" she asked.
Cenias looksed down at the Night Elf before him, knitting his brow.
Neyeeva raised herself to her feet, a little unsteadily from having not used them in some time. She looked to Eveela, studying her once more.
Eveela simply looked up at Cenias. She continued to not allow herself to show any emotions to the druid before her.
Cenias whispered to the other, "No, Neyeeva... I am not Xaneria, I am not gifted with second sight. I feel no change, and I certainly do not see one. I am afraid that I knew things would come to this after all..." Cenias looked to Neyeeva, nodding slowly.
Neyeeva felt the sense of alarm rise with in her. She knew if Eveela had not changed at all they would be forced to eliminate her taint. Neyeeva quickly spoke to Eveela, "Eveela? What are you thinking of?" thinking that perhaps she was dreading upon the events of the Dream.
Cenias looked down at the druid before him saying, "You have awoken, dorei, yet your lips remain tight and your mouth silent as one who remains dreaming."
Eveela shook her head, clearing her thoughts,"It's just something is on my mind I can't quite clear."
"Corruption taints your further, then, Eveela? The process has not worked?" He asked of her, speculatively.
"No." Eveela answered.
Neyeeva leaned in to whisper to Cenias, hoping to convince him of what she was certain of. "There is some change in her, however slight it is. I saw her overcome the nightmarish embodiement of her malevolent self."
"A slight change is not good enough, Neyeeva..." Cenias whispered back.
"Eveela, if you remember anything of your life before you fell asleep, then you should remember you comitted acts punishable by death..." Cenias began before Neyeeva interrupted him.
Neyeeva returned her attention to the young druid, not wanting to hear Cenias's doubt. "Eveela, what is it that captivates your mind so?"
"Indeed I did." Eveela responded, without the slightest emotion. She then answered Neyeeva's question, "Someone I talked to before I entered the dream..."
"Who" Neyeeva questioned, her curiousty peeking, as well as dred.
"A Death Knight." The girl answered in the same fashion and tone as she had been responding with.
Neyeeva sighed with much dissapointment as Cenias asked, knitting his brow, "And what interaction was that?"
Eveela let loose a sigh before anwering, "I told her to end Amornia while I was in the dream."
Neyeeva's raised then her eyes widened in surprise. What does she have to do with Amornia? Neyeeva thought in confusion. Her mate was supposed to be taking care of that witch, why would Eveela want her dead as well? Neyeeva shook her head slowly.
"What? it gave me something that I didn't need to worry about." Eveela asked innocently.
"Eveela, never mind about that damned warlock. You need to concentrate on yourself now." Neyeeva said, loosing her patience.
Eveela continued, " I realized I shouldn't have done anything now, my mind was just whirling at the time."
Neyeeva sighed, more from relief than exasperation. "That is a start." she muttered. She then looked to Cenias, raising her brow in question to his opinion.
"She is young. But from what little I can see, not entirely beyond hope." He admitted to her.
Eveela looked past Neyeeva and Cenias, then looked up to Cenias,"Where's Alora, she's not dead is she?"
Cenias turned his back to the young druid, not hearing her question, he had another matter upon his mind.
Neyeeva was suggesting to Cenias that perhaps some guidance from the elder's would help, then she heard the remark and turned to Eveela with some surprise. "Alora?"
Eveela nodded to Neyeeva.
Cenias looked back, his head turned slightly as he addressed the other druid, "Neyeeva..."
Neyeeva looked to Cenias, turning her back to Eveela as well. "I see little redemption, hope, perhaps... perhaps not..."Cenias took Neyeeva's hand, placing a Skinning Knife in it, its blade sharp. "Your discretion in this will be greater than mine. I leave the choice in your hands. I need not remind you of the caution you must undertake in this decision." He disclosed grimmly.
Once more the panic returned to Neyeeva, he could not see, but he had not heard! Neyeeva lowered her voice to Cenias, as Eveela sighed, either not hearing, or not caring of the importance of their conversation. "Wait. The bird. She worries for it. That is not the Eveela I came to know. I think something has taken root in her. I think she has changed. The Eveela I knew would never care for a creature."
"As I say, I see a small bud myself, but your knowledge and judgement on the subject is far deeper and more crucial than mine. Do not let pity sway your choice, falore Riversong. I will stand by your decision, regardless of what it may be." Cenias said before slowly exiting the barrow.
Neyeeva noded, her eyes clouding over with determination. She knew what had to be done, but first, she must see for herself if there was any change within her. She turned to back to face Eveela, her eyes hardened at the druid as she stepe closer to Eveela.
"Eveela, now is the time to show your regret, your remorse of being what you once were." She said harshly, her warrior training taking over. It was time to get past this foolishness, time to decide.
Eveela sighed, her eyes darkened with sorrow. She opened her mouth to speak then closed it, saying nothing.
"Tell me Eveela, what is it that you are thinking?" Neyeeva kneeled down to get at eye level with the young girl, her patience far from gone.
"If all of this was for nothing... " she began, "You heard what he said."
"Was it?" Neyeeva questioned. "Only you know that. Tell me."
"I don't know. Probably not..."
"Why do you say that? Do you feel as though you have learned nothing?"
"No."
Neyeeva frowned at Eveela. "So you want to return to that thing you became?"
"No. I say it because even if... even if I am redeemed, I still need to be accepted by the Arbiters."
"If...?"
"But I highly doubt they'll accept me."
Now she understood. Eveela wished to be accepted and had no wish for being shunned, even if she deserved it. She had spent most of her life alone. She had driven those who were close to her away, not keeping allies for long. Neyeeva thought for a moment before answering, "You will have to atone for your wrongs against them, that is certain. " She smiled to Eveela, attempting to give her confidence.
Eveela did not return the smile. Her eyes remained darkened by doubt.
"But the important thing is that you have no wish of returning to that twisted thing. That is good. Now you must learn how to make your decisions so that you do not return down that path." Neyeeva said as she tookthe knife in her hand, slipping it in her belt.
Eveela nodded weakly in response.
Neyeeva then extended her hand out to Eveela. "Let us get out of here in favor of some fresh air." she suggested softly.
Eveela hesitated for a moment before giving her hand to Neyeeva. Neyeeva took the hand, then helped the young girl to her feet. She smiled brightly to Eveela, giving her encouragement. Together they walked out of the dens into the misty sunlight of the Moonglade. Neyeeva turned to face Eveela.
"Eveela, do you feel any change within you? Even in the slightest?" Neyeeva asked, still a little uncertain. She had to be absolutely sure of her change.
Eveela nodded.
"Can you tell me what type of change you feel?"
"For starters, I don't feel as angry as I used to... the hatred isn't there, I suppose." she answered.
Neyeeva listened, nodding her head. "Go on." She encouraged.
Eveela thought for a long moment athen shrugged,"Just different I guess."
"Perhaps your first step, is to go to the Arbiters with your wish of atonement." Neyeeva suggested after some thought. "I warn you Eveela, it will not be easy, nor will it be simple."
"I never expected it to." Eveela answered honestly.
"Eveela, you cannot return to the path you once took. Am I understood?" she warned the druid sternly.
"Indeed."
"
To do so, would result in your demise."
"I know." Eveela whistled for her talbuk and climbed on top of the mount.
"As long as that is clear. Eveela, "Neyeeva added, "please, do not be afraid to let others in."
"I won't. I must be off now, for even being asleep this whole time I still am tired."
Neyeeva gave the druid a encouraging smile then watched her go, with some worry. Only time would tell if she had truelly changed, thought Neyeeva was certain something had taken root within the girl. It only needed to be nurtured to grow to its fullest potential.
